My previous post about guitar pickups was not something "original"..it was just some facts i knew about the pickups which i wrote down..i mean you could actually google all that stuff..but that wasn't my aim at writing this blog..today i'm going to try and give the viewers of my blog(if here are any:P) something that came straight from my mind...AND THIS POST IS VERY VAGUELY WRITTEN!!!SO PLEASE READ IT COMPLETELY TO UNDERSTAND WHAT I AM TRYING TO SAY
so everyone of you must have read about matter.."anything that has mass and occupies volume"
but don't you think this is a very basic and crude definition of matter,consider an photon it is said to be mass less particle which carries energy..it's definitely a particle but has it any volume?? a photon doesn't interact with any other photon IE it cannot hit any other photon but at some distance around 1/2 Fermi (.5*10^-15 mts.) you can experience electromagnetic force being exerted by photons..similar to the behavior of electrons so there must be some similarity between electrons and other particles which exhibit electromagnetic forces..there must be some kind of charge which maybe too small to be felt beyond 1/2 Fermi or something as gluons which are used to understand the interaction between quarks..or maybe these interactions are explained by the wave part associated with it..which also helps us to understand why photon must be mass less..so there are contradicting things leading me speculate "what is photon??"??(there are some theoretical 2-D fig proposed for photon)...
just think for a moment can mass and volume not co-exist??volume of what we generally think is in terms of macroscopic objects..but in case of sub atomic particles such as electrons(which cannot be physically viewed) the volume is considered to be a region in space where its wave nature is present and by the means of its wavelength we define the region where it can probably be be found as its "volume"..in simple terms region where it starts to interact with "matter"..
so the "volume" in matter's definition certainly doesn't apply to an electron.
"can mass and volume not co-exist??" this question lurks in my mind..and i say no they cant exist without each other..take a photon..it has no mass and no volume too..i cannot prove the fact as such but wouldn't it be absurd to think of a volume which is completely mass less??or a very heavy thing which cannot be seen cause it doesn't have any volume??
the photon's momentum can be explained with it being massless..so photon is just energy in its pure form..its not matter,but then again matter and energy are inter convertible so can photon be converted into matter???
not a single thing i could think could help me answer this question and i cannot actually say Einstein was wrong and he himself proposed photons(amazing isn't it???)
so what i came into my mind was "WHAT THE HELL IS MATTER??"
"MATTER IS JUST CARRIER OF ENERGY-THAT WAS MY SOLUTION"
as i said previously volume and mass cannot exist without each other but what i thought now was it is possible i mean you can just consider a volume free of mass but full of energy(in some form)..if matter existed it was just cause of energy as u cant think of a vol without mass and vice versa can u think of matter without energy..everything(matter) we know has energy or energy can be extracted from it or it can be converted to energy but energy into matter can u think of any such conversion..well atleast i cant..so what i thought was it was useless to define matter in terms of mass and volume rather something as which provides 100% pure energy(eg. photon)...but being delighted at my thoughts at first failed to notice a major error in this concept which is i took matter and energy to be two different things so if matter, so when when extract enrgy from my so called "matter" what left is matter ie more mass and volume..which perfectly fits the definition of matter..and that matter definatley has mass cause we can weigh it so it exists..
but my mind determined not to fail thought of a solution to this flaw it thought "okay mass and volume is matter but we humans arent 100% efficient..the leftover matter is just the part which we arent able to convert into energy and it must contain energy waiting to be extracted cause nothing can actually exist without energy the container of energy(matter) is what shows up on the scale when we weigh something"
with this theory i say matter and energy are two different things which are not inter convertible..energy is just within the matter so it kind of explains the fact that photon being energy cannot be converted into mass and volume..
so everyone please present you're views about matter...
